935 Park Avenue

Architect: Walter Sedovic, Walter Sedovic Architects
The 3,000 square foot wraparound terrace surrounding the penthouse of this elegant 16-story prewar cooperative apartment building had been leaking for several years. Pursuant to the architect’s plans, the experts at Herbert Rose, Inc. removed the quarry tile and the old, cracked and weakened roofing membranes.

Then, Herbert Rose, Inc. team replaced the roof surface with a U.S. Intec, 20-year warranty, modified bitumen and topped it with an easy-to-manage masonry paver system in an elegant herringbone.

The co-op’s board of directors was so pleased with the work, they retained Herbert Rose for another project. The new project entailed installing a copper frame for the building’s skylight, as well as copper gutters and leaders that required custom soldering. Upon completing the project, the firm was asked to set up protective coverings for an upcoming window installation throughout the penthouse.
